FreakZone Games nailed gameplay and esthetics of 90s platformers. They also added genuinely funny writing to the mix turning Sparky into spectacular experience.
Surprisingly good combination of metroidvania and first person shooter. It was published two years after DOOM and yet they nailed this new genre.

People say that Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number is worse than first game. I didin't play the original so I can't tell if this is true. What I do now is that fast-paced combat and FENOMENAL soundtrack make this game a lot of fun.
