The graphics are early 90s, so not good. There's no mouse aim, so that's not good either. That said, it's still a fun game to play if you are looking for a simple FPS. The level design is good and figuring out how to navigate through them can be a challenge. All in all, after 30 years it's stiull fun to play.

I still occassionally play this game when I'm in the mood for some simple FPS fun.

It's still an enjoyable FPS after all these years.

It'sstunning to compare this game, which came out in 1997, with Baldur's Gate, which came out in 1998. They're light years apart in terms of graphics and game play. BG is still very playable 25 years later. Fallout is tedious at best.

I still enjoy playing W3:DR. I don't recall when I first started playing it, but it was likely around the time it came out in 1998. It's a simple game with simple mechanics and graphics. but that's a big part of its charm. It doesn't require a great deal of thinking, but the AI is still good enough to keep you on your toes. And the random map generator malkes for endless p-layability. Play this game if you some good old fashioned warlord empire building.

Spoiler Alert - some vey minor spoilers. I spent 25 years in the Marine Corps, including a tour in Iraq. Playing this game for an hour is more scary then the enitire 7 months I spent in Al Anbar province. To be clear, I was only shot at a few times, the insurgents weren't good shots, and knowing I was with other Marines and that I had an assault rifle was more then enough to keep me calm and confident. This game is the exact opposite of that. It's essentially a horror stealth game where the alien is unkillable and you the player are alone and defenceless for most of the game, You basically spend almost all your time hiding (or in my case, cowering in fear, especially when the alien is nearby) as you try to make your way through Sevastopol Station. The Alien is smart, fast, and lethal. And I've lost count on how many times it's killed me. I don't like horror stealth games, mainly becasue I don't like hiding and I don't like being defenceless. So why 4 stars and why do I play it? Mostly because I 've been a huge alien fan since 1979 when I first saw the original movie. The story still intrigues me 50 years later. And I like a challenge. And this game is certainly that. A terrifying, gut wrenching, heart pounding, soul searing, nightmairsh challenge.
