It is virtually impossible for me to be objective about this game because it has provided so many fantastic memories for me that still endure to this day. I should consider myself a blessing because when I was growing up, the video games were not allowed in house because they are deemed very unsuitable for me and my young sibling. However, I'm fortunate that my father somehow bypass this rule by picking up many classic PC games like Diablo series and *gasping* Unreal Tournament GOTY. I have very minimal gaming experience by the time I first played Unreal Tournamet GOTY. Maybe Tetris knock offs, old RTS game that I could barely remember, lot of chess, but it was always reading lot of literature and watching television for me. Imagine my delight when I popped in UT: GOTY. I find it very easy, accessible, and intuitive. In no time, I was popping the noobs' heads off in no time and it soon consumed up many of my hours back in high school. Whenever I get very frustrated during high school period, I can just come home and play UT: GOTY to relieve my stress then go to bed very happily. Whenever I think of this game, I don't think of just pop in and shoot the heads off but instead, this game has many variety that kept me occupied for long time. It has fantastic maps that are never repetitive or dull. Also, it has Capture the Flag, Domination, Team Death match, Last man Standing, and other modes that you can sink your teeth in. No wonder this game kept me busy for long time when I was young buck. I find it interesting that I never played this game online before because I didn't have the knowledge of how to gaming online. Also, I'm sure my parents wouldn't be excited about the phone bills back then. So I usually play this game by myself most of the times because it's easy for me to adjust the bots to my own level so it never get bored for me. So I really highly recommend this game a lot. Plenty of maps that provide enough excitement but not too challenging. Lot of awesome weapons (Flak cannon is my personal favorite) and different modes to keep you busy for a while. It is truly amazing game and I'm so thrilling to discover that GoG have it on their website so I can scoop it up to relieve the memories.
