Some games are so well done, age doesn't touch them. This is such a classic. Once I started this I had to keep going until I finished it. Great, fun addictive gameplay. More challenging than the new games but still offers a wide variety of options for how you want to play each mission. You can go ham and maybe get away with it - just make sure you leave no witnesses. I made the mistake of playing this before trying to go back and play the older games - this was just too well done in comparison.
As soon as my 11 year old said Diablo was on GOG, I immediately plopped down my $10 because this game was one of favorite games of all time. $10 is nothing if the game plays like it did when I wore it out on my playstation 20 years ago. As someone who has lived through the entire history of video games, I can wisely say yes, this game passes the test of time. I've played it for three days straight. This is the ARPG bedrock - its distilled essence. Thank you GOG for restoring a true classic.
