Hollow Knight: Silksong

Get ready for nonstop punishment

There's a big, thick line between "challenging and fun" and "brutality for the sake of it." This game *sprints* across that line while vomiting loudly all over it. Three hours in, I heavily modded the game, and even then, I found it unneccesarily frustrating a lot of the time. I don't mind a challenge, but this was just over the line, all the time, start to finish. I'm in the minority here, but I found this massively less fun than Hollow Knight. If Silksong had come out as a new IP, fine. It's a hard game. Acceptable. But it's a sequel, and it's not for Hollow Knight fans. It's for Godshome fans. Aesthetically, it's beautiful. The music, characters, and locales are amazing. Mechanically, I found it nothing but a chore.
