No Man's Sky

Almost there - 3.5/5

It's definitely much better now but still far from perfect. If you like crafting and traveling around the galaxy then this is for you. The lastest updates make the game more fun by containing a bit of story in a group (multi-player) effort. I found once I was done there wasn't tons to bring me back yet. I need a bit more of an overall story and some NPCs that mean something to it.

Wizardry: Proving Grounds of the Mad Overlord

Good start so far

It's funny, I played this in highschool on the Apple IIe. My group of fellow nerds sat around a single computer with one of us driving and the rest watching. We all had a character that we played. We made maps on paper (so many arguments when we got lost/mixed up, too funny). I remember being sad when one of the party would die (and die they will), hoping we'd make it back to town before a complete party wipe. We got so addicted we propped open the window in the school and snuck back in to play at night/weekends. No alarm systems back then. Great to see this game getting some love and I especially like the QoL features they put in to allow the player to choose which gameplay style choices they'd like. You can make it as punishing as the original if you like. Also really enjoying the added 2-d vector map on the side showing you the original game view. I even can remember some of the maps! Be wary friends, this game punished you and it still does. There's very little hand holding so if you're scared of games that don't allow you to save every 2min then you might want to avoid this one. I really hope this does well and they can move on to the sequels. Keep it up!

Thief™ 3: Deadly Shadows

Good but not Great...

This game was made for consoles and it's not nearly as expansive as the first 2. The lore and story are decent and the game contains one of the best (scary) levels ever design. It's called "Robbing the Cradle" and do yourself a favour. Don't look up anything about it, don't watch any vids or how-tos. Buying the game is worth it for that level.

Thief™ 2: The Metal Age

Best of the series!

Really great world building (lore, theme, setting). If you're of a mind there are lots of Fan Made missions and mods for this game. It truly has a life of its own. I wish more games were made like this.

Thief™ Gold

I bought a video card just to play this!

I remember purchasing a Matrox video card just so I could buy this game. I can remember the first boot up. I wasn't dissapointed. Well not as polished and complete as Thief 2, it does a great job setting the stage for the world and lore. There are lots of mods out there for Thief and Thief 2. Well worth the effort to keep playing.

Rebel Galaxy

Better than expected

I ended up really liking this game but it took a good 5 hours or so to get into the game. Combat is different as you fight on a plane (no vertical). The ships all feel different and have many different weapons to load out on each. The story is present fairly well but it's not overly deep. It can take awhile to get some things done so you have to be a bit patient.
