Some people may call this a Soulslike, but I wouldn´t dare to, even though you lose your ´souls´ when you die. Overall it´s a 2D action platformer where you go through different levels, and at the end there´s a boss. 3 hours in, the difficulty is quite acceptable. It´s not too difficult but you have to be a bit careful, so it´s not just button mashing. The one thing I am not sure about is that the game keeps giving you bonuses the more time you spend without dying, but also making enemies harder, although more rewarding. It´s not very well explained how to balance that system, and I don´t know the long term implications.

The main selling point of this game is the parody humor. If you like the humor style, you will love the game. The game has a semi-linear structure where you have to find the elements you need to use to progress through the story. Stealth and combat options are basic but work well in the context of the game. Pixel art is quite consistent with the old action movies.

This game is similar to the Deus Ex franchise. I like the setting, and the conversation system has a lot of depth. All levels are designed with stealth in mind, although sometimes it asks you to eliminate all targets, which seems to defeat the purpose. The AI of the enemies could definitely use some polish, and the shooting/targeting system with fireams is clunky, probably designed to discourage you from using them. So far, it runs perfectly on my modern W11 PC, so no performance-bugs complaints whatsoever! I have been playing with an Xbox controller and I strongly suggest to use controller instead of keyboard and mouse.

When this game came out, there was some controversy. I actually tried it on console, but for some reason it seemed to me clunky, and I was put off by the loading time. Now, with a good PC and SSD, it runs like butter. I like the story. It´s not as good as Human Revolution, but there´s a lot to enjoy here. Combat is a bit clunky but I am doing pure stealth run, so I don´t feel that pain.

I was very excited after playing the first two worlds, just to realize that the design of worlds 3 and 4 is pretty minimalistic. The last world has only one stage. Game is short (7-8h, add a couple more hours if you are a completionist). It is not difficult at all, but the playability is a bit annoying. I believe that the character has too much 'inertia' and it is hard to do quick changes in the moveset as you would do in, let's say, Ori. Recommendation: buy on sale
