Nowadays, you gotta approach a gameplay overhaul with a lot of skepticism. But they pulled it off. Good story, good looking characters, a solid bestiary, a solid talent tree system, and they basically upgraded the previous games' mechanics without ruining them. My only complaint would be that some combat arenas feel like you bought some cheap tickets to the baseball game. But I wouldn't change it, not worth the hassle. As someone who played like 3-4 King's Bounty Games, I am more than satisfied with this one.
