Fallout: London

Took a bit, but it's running alright

- Ran the downgrader - Disabled all my mod organizer 2 mods, vortex is terrible and I refuse to use it - Disabled the high-res texture pack DLC, didn't know it was unoptimized to shit 'til now but in this case it also overrides the custom textures the mod uses - Installed Buffout4 in mo2 - Launched the game from f4se instead of GOG or Steam - Still crashes every 3-4 hours but that's more stable than vanilla in my experience, my rig's not great I'm about 25 hours in as of this writing, and I'd say the mod's pretty good so far! The new weapons are satisfying (revolver shotgun my beloved), the story's loaded with intrigue, plus the world is massive and riddled with worthwhile secrets. The locations feel less kitbashed than vanilla Fallout 4's, and this region actually acts like humans have had 200 years to rebuild their towns and try to re-establish order. Unlike FO3+4 the game world doesn't revolve around you. Weapon customization got an overhaul, too - the vanilla pipe weapons sorely underdelivered on how modular they are. This mod introduced the "crude" weapon family as a replacement and triples down on the modularity, and a laser equivalent with just as many options. Traits got reintroduced (I HIGHLY recommend taking the one that adds a chance of sending you to random locations whenever you sleep, it's coded to always take you somewhere interesting), dialogue skill checks are back and not based on chance, there's actually-unique weapons again and I've yet to have someone breathing down my neck about settlements. I wouldn't say it's as good as Skyrim's Enderal, but it's pretty damn close. My two complaints are that most merchants have "stock" dialogue, and so far none of them have carried unique items.
