A shining example of what a small studio can accomplish when given room to breath, and realize their vision. A perfect game, where every gameplay element resonates together to create an extremely interesting whole. > This game plays like a little bit oversimplified Doom or Blood on their maze levels with tons of monsters, but unique art style makes everything right. (From another review) I have no idea what game this guy was playing. I only was exposed to "Doom" and "Blood", and "Forgive Me Father" has *way* more complex and varied gameplay than either.

What makes this the greatest game of all time is that it was made with love. It is the perfect representation of an idea, that maybe part of life isn't about trying to force yourself into the world's image of Man as he is nor is it forcing the world into your image. Just maybe we can take a little time out of our lives to appreciate people who sell weapons inside of monasteries, men who seek mass destruction in the name of a dark god, and rodents that come from campaign settings totally incompatible with the world as it is. That maybe we are all alone in a dark and unknowable world with our friends. And we should occasionally do things for love and love only. That is Baldur's Gate.
