You go through the game freeing different regions from your enemies with your ever-growing army of dark minions. Part RPG part tactical battler. The good (and great): - Fun tactical combat - Fun finding and combining loot for unique bonuses (and set bonuses) - It's fun finding and combining units and their abilities for synergy - Dark humour wil consistently make you smile and chuckle - You will suitably hate your enemies - The game is actually really beautiful in places. I was struck by this whilst playing in a forested area and dozens of little lanterns lit up as darkness fell. The bad: - Some quests will have you scratching your head as to where to go next and who to talk to. I'd recommend just searching online if stuck as the solutions are sometimes quite random. - Your home base gets upgraded over time, but the upgrades are basically a wallpaper (think x-com style antfarm base but without the ability to zoom in on rooms). It would be nice to walk around the new additions and have some interaction, but I'm nit-picking. Overall the good far outweighs the bad, I just completed the game, and had an absolute blast. Sad that I'll never experience it for the first time again. I am taking a quick break to write this review, but really just want to play some more - that says it all really doesn't it?
