Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri™ Planetary Pack

Doesn't run in Windows 10

This will not install on Windows 10 so don't waste money on it. Pity...it's a great game.

Falcon Collection

Get Falcon 3.0 for the superb game play.

I remember when Falcon 3.0 came out. It was a great sim--not necessarily the best looking but the game play was fantastic. Although I liked Falcon 4.0, I think 3.0 is the better game. 30 years have passed and I still remember some of the missions I flew that's how good it was/is. A buddy and I actually bought a second phone line so that we could fly missions together over our modems and communicate with each other via the phones on the 2nd lines. We played with the Thrustmaster HOTAs set up. It was expensive but worth it. The game has a quite a few different campaigns you can fly. The Kurile Islands was my favorite but it was very difficult. To win a campaign you have to assign flights and load outs for your F-16s as well as waypoints for you flights--don't be shy about adding flights to your mission, it helps. Once you take over the lead pilot in one of the flights, you take off and try to complete the mission. The enemies can be pretty difficult. Fly too low and you can get nailed by a shoulder-launched SAM. Fly too high and you'll get painted by the enemy radar and they will vector flights to shoot you down. After a number of missions, you will see the campaign/war front move based on your performance. Every mission is different and they all seem to matter. Missions are rarely easy. I flew a mission the other day and got back to my airfield and prepared to land and got jumped by a couple of MiG-17s. That sort of thing is what makes the game so much fun. It all just feels realistic. Sure the graphics are dated, but after you get past that it is a blast. The enemy AI is so superb it feels like you are playing against a human opponent. Because of this, the game never gets old. If you dig around on the Net you can find a fix for a couple of the too-deadly (unrealistic) SAM types. This is a great game that was far ahead of its time and is still fantastic today. Now, after 30 years, I'm still having fun playing it. You will too.

Sid Meier's Covert Action

A unique classic

This is a very unique, classic game that is different each time you play. I used to play this for hours and hours years ago. You're a spy trying to solve a case. You can break into buildings, follow cars, decrypt encrypted messages and other things in an attempt to prevent the bad guys from committing a crime. This game was truly ahead of it's time and is simply brilliant. For a few bucks you really can't go wrong.
