Ignore everyone whining about "political agendas" or whatever else people are complaining about. This game is an excellent addition to the Baldur's Gate line, and anyone who disagrees probably hasn't played vanilla Baldur's Gate recently enough to have the nostalgia goggles removed. Honestly, I'm pretty sure I had my nostalgia goggles on the entire time and I still loved this expansion. They somehow managed to get back original voice actors for some dialogue (ANY recorded dialogue from original actors is a miracle in my opinion), there are battles that are larger in scale than anything we've seen in the original series, and I personally thought the writing was excellent. I had fun just reading some of the more clever dialogue options in many scenarios, and I loved to see both returning characters of the original games as well as Enhanced Edition characters such as Baeloth. I also find the improved usability of the new UI a much appreciated feature. Knowing who an item might benefit in the party by just clicking on it and then being able to instantly see any pertinent stat changes by clicking on it in their inventory is excellent. Even seeing health bars above enemies instead of constantly having to hover over each individual one to see how injured they are is incredibly useful. Honestly, if you aren't looking to inexplicably tear this game down without reason before even going into it, I would be shocked if any true fan of the series, who should be used to several different authors and contributors adding to the story in their own ways, doesn't have fun with this game.
