The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion - Game of the Year Edition Deluxe

Less than Morrowind and Skyrim but fun

Definitely the weakest of the 3 modern TES games. Blandest atmosphere, simplest story, somehow feeling like a step down from both TES III and TES V, but still a pretty good and solid RPG experience. Unfortunately the game has serious issues with enemy and level balancing, especially when you reach the higher levels: you'll have boss characters that get completely curbstomped by two swings of your weapon while Goblins will take minutes to wear down, even with the best gear available. This game started the "oversimplification" of the series that culminated in Skyrim, but since combat ins't as smooth as that game it somehow falls flat even on that regard. I'd consider Oblivion the bastard child of the other two modern TES games: imperfect, a bit cranky and weird, has most of the flaws of its parents but only some of their charm. Despite all of this, the game manages to be fun and intriguing throughout, so I'd say it''s worth your while if you've already played its prequel and sequel.
