I don't know how objective I can be, this was one of my favourite games as a kid. I keep going back to it and it holds up. Honestly, I don't know how much of it is just nostalgia, but I genuinly prefer this to Heroes V and newer. It has the right mix of complexity and straight forwardness for me. The music and graphics just pull you in. Old 2D graphics always look better to me than old 3D graphics.
