Rayman® Forever

Ultimate nostalgic experience

I played Rayman for endless amounts of time when I was little, and it is one of the games I have the fondest memories of. I love everything about this game; the fluid gameplay mechanics, the beautiful environments, the challenge that steadily increases as you get towards the end, and last but probably most important, the music. One thing I particularly enjoy is the control you have over your character. You are going to die in this game, a lot. But I never felt like it was because of faulty or unresponsive controls. If you die, it's your own fault. Even though the game is at a low resolution which results in incredibly pixelated graphics, it really looks stunning even by todays standards. The backgrounds and the level design and the tiny details that can be found everywhere makes for a really beautiful game. The challenge this game presents is not for the faint hearted. As mentioned you will die a lot, and it can be incredibly frustrating. If you find yourself dying at a specific point repeatedly take a break from the game and come back refreshed, because you will end up literally yelling because of the games difficulty. Even today, this is the game against which I compare all other platforming games. If you haven't yet, try it out.
