This really feels like a game made by the creators of Gothic. At beginning you are very weak, you can barely survive a combat with Mass Rat. So you just keep running away while collecting experience from easy quests. You definitely must focus on getting better weapon so you need to level required attributes. Later on (for me as cleric as I got plasma/laser rifle; ca after 20 hours of gameplay) you become very strong. It feels so rewarding. So that is it. Good story. Painful at start rewarding later.
Very good tactical game. Still evolving. New DLC will be coming to satisfy the hardcore gamers (the same happened with the new X-COM).
I have not yet finished the game, only the first two chapters. But from this experience I have to say the game is very well written, making the player wonder what is real and what is just imagination. The events and graphics in the game is very dark and gory. Yet it is not also very poetic by the way of dialogs and let you explore various aspects of human mind. The controls are keyboard only yet very well designed and easy to work with.
On level 20 I am having a great fun. I had to start again though, because I made a not so good team. So do read some guide before you start playing because not all is clear from the manual and/or from common sense (e.g. efficiency of different weapon). Anyway the game really reminds me of my beloved Fallouts. The turn based combat works well, the character development is great as well, as is the story. New places and weapons are fun to discover. The graphics (especially of your team) could be a bit better but who cares.
