It's a bit unfair that this game got the ratings destroyed by someone who can't run it or can't figure out how to play it. Runs perfect on a modern windows 10 machine it's cheap, fun and it has the classic worms charm. It is most definitely not broken in any way.
Yeah no wonder this was on a giveaway once All I wanted was polished worms and what I got was needless "story" prompts, content being locked behind tutorials, imbalanced AI and interruptions with "helpful" tips all the time. Not to mention the lack of multiplayer. Not even lan...
It's undoubtedly one of the peak Fallout games. However problem is the modern port. GOG version is the best you can get, but even though it crashes much less than Steam's version it's still annoying, plus it can corrupt your save file.
So, the game comes with 6 tables that vary in quality and content. Some like "Knight Tournament" table are pretty unique with both layout and graphics, and fast paced. Some unfortunately lack some depth like "Monsters" or "Aquatic". There are also tacky aspects to the game, mainly the sound design. The narrations or voices that emit from the machine to notify you of your ball being saved or bonus points can seem a bit old fashioned, however I think this contributes to the charm. The ambient around you makes you feel like you're in a bar which makes the game feel more shovelware-ish. One cool thing to note though, is the 7 camera angles that you can toggle while playing, 3 of which follow the ball (at different distances), making for more interesting gameplay at times. All in all, it's not a bad simulation. It's realistic enough, interesting and fun. It has that stale charm covered in overall good gameplay as well as variety. I have read some of the other reviews and they either not played all of the tables trough or are expecting a Pro Pinball level of simulation, which is on par with the real deal with accurate physics and dot matrix mini games which you won't be getting in with title, but it doesn't make Dream Pinball bad. It doesn't seem like the intense realism was ever the focus. It's worth giving a shot when it's on sale at least.
The way I found out about this game is trough a youtuber and it seemed interesting so I gave it a shot. Im so so positively surprised, it might be just a budget shooter and it might be,to my sadness, very short but I still had so much fun with it. I played it a little each day before work and it fixed my mood up for the day. Amazing game, in my opinion. Great purchase for the winter sale!
