Actually, initially I was pretty much sceptical about a "yet another walking sim", but after 10 or 15 minutes in the game I realised that it had something particular inside. I must admit that this one has surpassed any other game of this type. The game is a profoundly touching experience. Also, it has a pretty easter egg tied to The Unfinished Swan, the former game of the studio.
But the developpers actually have forgotten to make a GAME. It is quite boring. Gameplay is monotonous and after five or a bit more hours it becomes really repetitive. The locations despite having impressive visuals seem abandoned lifeless. They feel artificially made in the bad sense. Due to constant need to teleport back and forth between quest location and the hub I felt like the game doesn't progress at all. I played this game with my Borderlands 1-2 party and everyone had negative impression of the game. Even though we all enjoyed the relaunch of SW in 2013. Literally the disappointment of the year.
This game is one that I would put in world's classic list. The horror setting gives rise of one's emotions and this emotional unity with the protagonist in an inherent part of this game. The plot forces us to deeply reflect on relativity of a human conciousness, persistence of the surroundings and the world itself.
