No Man's Sky

no man´s motivation

Well, what to say... :-( The hype train rolled over it. What disappoints me the most are those terrible, grainy pop-ins and the fact that my system running on a 970 isn´t able to run that bugger smoothly. Not much too do and the stuff you actually CAN do is tedious as hell. I´m glad they didn´t stick to the originally intended idea of only one planet in a hundred being populated. Overall, critters and planets look largely the same from planet to planet, colors vary though. And as far as procedural generation goes, all it does in this case is combining predefined body parts which leads to the aforementioned fact of most creatures looking the same. Maybe this algorithm IS potent and Maybe there ARE really stunning, procedurally generated worlds and lifeforms out there to discover. If only i could bring myself to go for long enough...
