...but where is Force Commander? Yes I know, it's been ripped apart in the reviews. But there was something about Force Commander that I actually enjoyed. Maybe the rock&roll Imperial March, maybe the true 3D battlefields? I say the death knell for that game, was the limited unit supply. But FC was also one of the first 3D RTS games, so errors were made, that hopefully will be corrected sometime. Rebellion is a game that has a depth of play, that is rarely seen. But that might put some off, because it is not a standard "pick a side -> build a base and train/ drop your troops -> destroy the opposition" style game. Star Wars Rebellion is a thinking strategy game (I know all TTS/ RTS need the player to think on how to best use his units (except for Dark Colony, where even the 'long range' units stormed into the fray), but this game is on a higher level than the average). This is not a StarCraft/Age of Empires clone. That is the next one: Galactic Battlegrounds is literally Age of Empires with Star Wars sprites and a Star Wars storyline. Easy to get into and easy to play. Enjoy. Empire at War has a different approach: There are planetary battles (your standard RTS gameplay) and orbital battles, with some space debris to hinder or support your units, depending on how you use it. I consider it to be 2.5D, because the space maps have a limited roll, but no 360 degree full circle turning. All these games are worth having and playing. I just wish Force Commander was also included (your brother in jail is still your brother, right?) and that whoever made FC, had included more units.
Before getting this game on The Competition's DRM FILLED store, I have finished "Deus Ex: The Fall". The first level was just too familiar, an extended DXTF introduction level. I was annoyed and disappointed: I had thought that this was an original game. I got my money back, at least. I think what rather should be done, is that DXTF be remastered (WITH JUMPING and WITHOUT THE IN-BATTLE SHOPPING) and the follow-up episodes made. Especially now with The Vaccines taking the media by storm, the Diazepam/ Ryzene dilemma of DXTF seems to fit well into the current scheme of things. Hereby a request to Eidos, to see if they can get the rights to DXTF and do it justice, without micro transactions. I loved the depth and political commentary of DX and I saw how world events were portrayed realistically, in DXHR. But I somehow just fail to place DXMD anywhere. I just cannot see what's been added to the series, except for micro transactions. But I do see why JC Denton did not star again, in the one DX game that we want to deny existed. And likewise, why Adam Jensen should have been DXHR only. Three stars, for graphics and playability (for the while that I played).
One star. Two more than I wanted to give, but the review system doesn't allow for a "no-stars" rating. Please correct that, CDPR. I was interested in this game. X-Com: Terror From The Deep in HD (or as it is put usually, its "spiritual successor")? Of course yea! Then I saw that the EULA's (apparently this game has TWO of the things) confess to being spyware in a game suit, and it will not run wihout you signing away your freedom to thine Corporate Overlords. And I noped out of there. I grew up a gamer. I think it might be time to quit gaming in total. And that idea somehow just seem to suck. But not enough to sign away my privacy to a corporate EULA.
