Prodeus

A Improved DOOM 2016

Take the feel of DOOM 2016, tone the graphics down slightly, and expand the color pallete and in a nutshell you have Prodeus. Game play is closer to the Doom and Build engine games than Quake or the more recent Dusk and Ultrakill. Graphics are excellent. You have all the visually effects that one is accustommed too and with everything cranked up looks modern. Adjusting the settings lets you introduce screen effects replicating playing it on a crt or making it look more like somehting from the late 90s. Movement feels smooth but sprinting sometimes doesn't give a real feel of speed. Weapons are all statsifing from the look, feel, and use perspectives. Despite being early acess it feels polished and already has a map editing and user created maps.

Ion Fury

A game out of place in time

Game is great, would put it gameplay wise closer to Duke and Shadow Warrior than Blood. Gameplay is tight and satisifiying. Level design is great espicially the levels set in downtown Neo DC. Weapons are on the basic side but are all satsifiying. The only two weapons I felt that really stood out from the rest are the starting pistol and the ion bow. A good selection of enemies from the standart cultist variations to some that feel to be Quake inspired. Only two real things I didn't like and neither were major deal breakers. The first is that although the game runs great during a couple of hte boss fight there were some frame rate issues. The second is after having the open city levels spending a good part of the game either underground or in various labs felt kind of disappointing
