Performance is bad, I had to lower the graphic settings a bit. Gameplay, story and level design is worse than in the first part of the series. The character classes were a good idea badly implemented. I unlocked a load of stuff in the playthrough, tested one survival level, restarted the game with the electric gun, monochrome-mode, 100 skillpoints and a higher difficulty setting but it was still "meh" and I deleted it.

A really fun game, I enjoyed it a lot. It's quite short and I finished it in two days, but I can't complain, because I needed 6 hours and it wasn't expensive. If you want something easy and short with neat graphics to just have a good time digging, then this is for you. The Linux port worked very well and although it didn't have proper gamepad support (I don't understand this), it worked flawlessly with my Saitek P2600 via QJoyPad. One star removed because it tries to force you into using an Xbox controller which has to be solved with external programs, it would have gotten 5 from me otherwise. I don't want to be forced to buy some peripherals from M$ and like my old Saitek pads.
It's definitely better than the (really not good) second part in every way (including bugs and technical problems), although the end wasn't really to my liking although not bad. Runs perfectly in WINE with standard settings but thanks for the Linux port now anyway. :) It's hard to tell about the good stuff without spoilers, but I can tell, that it has some funny twists. Fifth star removed because of still too performance hungry engine for this type of 2D game, another 1.5 stars removed because of regional pricing added later here on GoG via Daedalic.

To be honest, the new version has too many flaws for this price tag. You still have to use the old "Look, Pick up, Push, Pull, Open etc..." control scheme but the area with those buttons (through which you can derive the keyboard shortcuts easily) isn't there anymore, neither is the inventory and you have to open the inventory with ALT, which I've never seen before. It's ignoring all standards, the old one as well as the new one. What I don't like either is Guybrush's new look. Most of the time it looks like he has a sidecut and in general he is the usualy comic like big and thin figure instead of his old self, especcially the last picture with him and Elaine looks better in the original version. The feature to switch between versions instantly with a button press is neat though. The content is the same as before, Monkey Island 1 is just plain weird and defies most logic, which makes it a lot of trial and error compared to modern point'n'click adventures, but it has a certain charme.

A cute little adventure game. The style and sound effects are really neat and the possibility to crawl on walls and ceilings gives it some twist, I just wished it would have been longer, because it's incredibly short and too expensive because of this. My rating is based on the $15 price tag, I'd recommend it for $5.

Not bad at all, a bit simple and not much freedom, but it's got many good ties to the movies. You have to ignore a lot of plot holes though and the last episode is very buggy. My GoG version actually has German audio (which I didn't use because the English one is much better), although the game card says German is in text only. Either the description is wrong or the German audio was removed in the current version without telling anyone. oO

The first time I saw this game running was actually in a museum with an exhibition about bugs back then when the game was brand new. I always wanted to play it ever since but never got my hands on it, later on I got it on GoG. Overall a pretty good exploration game. It's really well made if you take its age into account and has nice graphics and story. What really miffed me was, that I probably found everything in the game but one unimportant scene and only because of that, I am not able to get the good ending. There is no indication what I might have missed and I've found more than enough to make it clear what I'm supposed to do, in what it will result and I've seen all (?) the information about his and his fathers past. I finally decided against going through the whole game again to find whatever I might have missed Spoiler: only to be able to throw down the cigarette and see the ending where he rescues his father, /Spoiler I watched it on Youtube instead...

I'm not impressed. I seriously thougt about aborting this game halfway through because it's only grinding and the art style is so childish. After defeating Ordrak I went on fighting my way through the bonus missions in the new south-east corner of the town but at some level of my character the game always crashed when I wanted to look at my character sheet or level up the skills, so I had to abort it. I don't know if I should say I quitted or finished it, because the crash is after the regular bossfight. I played the German DVD version with the latest official patch, the audio translation wasn't very good either and only having one town and no multiplayer are big steps backwards in this genre. I'd not recommend this game and would rather say, play "Beelzebub - Diablo 1 HD", "Diablo 2 Multires (HD)" or "Titan Quest" instead.

I was pleasantly surprised, it was a funny game with an extremely cool cast and soundtrack, I wish there'd be more metal soundtracks in video games, the choice of tracks from all those well known metal bands was quite good too and the tracklist is extremely long. Of course it's like a console game through and through, but a fun experience after all and the graphics look nice and don't run too bad on my old system. Still searching for the last stuff I didn't find in the game but it's only a matter of time now. Having Ozzy Osbourne, Lemmy Kilmister, Rob Halford, Jack Black etc... doing the voices and appearing ingame at very many occasions was really cool. It took me 12,5h to complete. The multiplayer mode is actually quite fun (micro strategy game where you can fight alongside your minions in many different ways) and it's cool that you can play the gothic and demon/deathmetal faction too, too bad it's not LAN compatible and only possible via steam, but at least it has an offline AI mode. :) Spoiler: I was laughing hard when I saw that the girl becomes a goth and founds her black tears faction with zombies, corpse brides etc... after she felt betrayed by Eddie, that's exactly what I've seen from many girls that always clinged to metalheads. Her faction with the depressive emo zombies is fun to play too.

I planned to play this for ages and now that I did, I have mixed feelings about it. The story is ok, difficulty curve is somewhat inversed, it's harder at the beginning and gets constantly easier, because there are less and less different screens to visit at a time and less points to interact with. The main problem with this game is, that it's boring and a waiting game most of the time, simply because the animations are extremely slow and the character is slower when running than other point'n'click characters are when walking and there is no way to exit a known screen instantly, which makes you walk a loooong part of the game, expeccially since there are many riddles where you have to walk the same spots up and down again and again. The English voice acting is good, although not phenomenal. Replay value is nil, but it was nice in a way, let's see how well made the second part of the series is. What I really miss are the other languages it was translated into, they are available on the devs site but not here. :/
