Well written, with a satisfying game play loop and strong art direction. A clear descendant of the Disco Elysium style. It shares isometric fixed camera view, beautifully painted character portraits and the dialogue box occupying the right side of the screen. Where it diverts from the Diso formula, is in the addition of turn based combat, and a "hub" world area that you navigate in first person. The plot is simple, but I felt the story tied itself up neatly by the end.

Wears its influences on its sleeve: Lovecraft, Resident Evil. Challenging but not unfair. Puzzel solutions make sense. Combat has a rythm to it, though running past enemies (even bosses) is always an option. Gorgeous pixel art environments and enemy designs! Strong soundtrack too. The plot is a little predictable, which isn't a bad thing. It knows its tropes and commits to them fully. (That said, I'm only 37% through, so it could still have some surprises in store). My only gripe is back-tracking can get tedious. But I only ever find myself back-tracking when I missed something obvious. It's almost always clear what next step is neccessary to progress the plot. TLDR: Great game! Definitely worth your money if you enjoy eldritch horror and detailed pixel art.
