Sleeping Dogs: Definitive Edition

Couple bugs but otherwise its great

Man i forgot how good old gaming was. I played this fully twice on xbox. Now playing again on PC. And let me tell you, I DO NOT play games more than twice in my life. I enjoy the novelty of playing a new game. But hot damn do I love this game. I have had some serious issues with PC games that scared me away from playing older titles. This game however runs perfectly on my 4070 and 5700x. Just make sure all your drivers and windows is up to date if you have isssues. The game has incredible things you notice immidiately. This open world feels alive. Not dead like a normal ubisoft style game. The driving is arcadey but fun and easy to deal with. combat is snappy and quick. Most collectiables actually improve your character and give you a reason to explore. Also they have a bright ping so you dont miss them. THe world is super detailed and as I said before, feels alive. Story is clear, simple and perfectly delivered. Oh and best of all no modern political nonsense. Just gaming art at its peak. My only issues with the game were. Losing police experience because you hit things really makes it a drag to level up. You are constantly breaking stuff as you do police chases. fighting can be annoying at times since he will randomly not register a kick, punch or grapple. Its not common but does happen. The importance of legendary outfits is not told to you but they give huge bonuses. I personally dont like games that require you to use consumbables for bonuses constantly. I gotta get massages, food and drinks every 20 minutes or so. And a lot of them are not marked on the map for some reason. So you need to drive around to find one of each to stay fully boosted. Overall the game is exceptional and deserved a sequal. Sad we live in a time where I defintiely dont want them to make a sequal and ruin the legacy of this game lol. I cant give the game a perfect 5 but i will give it a 4.5 stars and a SERIOUS recommendation to play

Empires: Dawn of the Modern World

Great nostalgia trip BUT BE WARNED

I love this old game. Played it so much as a kid. Got it off the shelf at big lots for $5 back in the early 2000s.Great level of detail for how old it is. You can zoom in so much. amazing story and voice acting, straight forward mechnaics you can just guess. I really like this RTS as a kid but.... I forgot HOW SLOW THIS GAME IS. there is no speed control either. I remember while playing lionhearts first mission, why i would chat online with people as I played this game. its brutally slow. Also the pathing of troops as you click them to move is god awful. Multiple times on the first mission alone i had units struggling to move or attack after I gave them an order. They just kind of paced back and forth or would go super far away then come back. Its just worse than I remember. Also I wish it would zoom out more. I like a birds eye view of things. This game is a bit too close for my RTS prefrence. Idk if it was design limitations of the day or if it was intentional since combat was the main focus of this game. Keeps you in on the action and focused. If it wasnt for that it would be 5 stars. I just dont see how people can give it 4 or even 5 stars with these issues. I get the game is old but still you are paying for it.
