The campaign is fun, but the random map generator can provide you with thousands of hours of entertainment. Great game to listen to podcasts.
This game is one of the first games I played when I got my first PC. I've played it many times since then and it always has something new to offer. I've even beaten it on the hardest difficulty setting. What I like most about it is the gritty engrossing atmosphere and the game-play. The cut scenes and the NPCs provide amazing voice acting that really adds to the experience. Sometimes they say extremely hilarious lines. It is a classic first person shooter and shooting is as fun as it gets. Do not hesitate, if for whatever reason you've never played it, buy it as soon as possible. If you've played it - play it again, it still is as fun as you remember it.
This is one of my Top 3 games of all times. It has awesome fantasy atmosphere and looks great, even if the graphics is a bit outdated. The combat mechanics is realistic, you have to dodge, jump back and find openings in the opponent's defense. Even at the last level a generic enemy can kill you if you don't pay attention. It's not just numbers vs numbers as in WoW for example. Timing, and the spot where your blade connects to the enemy's flesh matters a lot. Even the choice of weapon matters if the fight is going to be easy or hard. You can replay this game many times, you have four different characters each one of them feels very different to play with, and even if your replay with the same character the game doesn't disappoint, because the battles never happen in the same manner. You can use the best weapon, you can use a crappy weapon, or just use bow and arrows to make the orcs look like funny hedgehogs. The levels are unique in design and atmosphere. If you have never played this game, and you love fantasy or games like Skyrim, this is for you.
