Wolfenstein: The Two Pack

Uncensored Game in Germany finally!

The good part first. Wolfenstein games publiished by Bethesda really have a great synchronisation. This is only used for the internetional release / English. In Germany they used standart German speaking people instead of accents etc. The world is much more lively but is a post "console game era" game which still has a lot of strange things. It tries to do old school things but makes it even more stupid; still good. Combat is good. All Bethesda published Wolfenstein games all have the same problems. Pickups are not automaticly picked up. Time for rant in Game Design. I want to like it but console games are just bad. Normally developers implement help in form of doing the controls right from the start like climbing up not with SPACE bar but W after you did the horrible LMB + RMB event. Same with getting on a boat and being able to go over the ramp but fall of from it because it has NO traditional Level Design from the golden age of Shooters like Return To Castle Wolfenstein, Call of Duty, Medal of Honor Allied Assault, Deus Ex, Max Payne and many more. On the other hand there are no help for console players like (bad games but describle it well) Spec Ops the Line and Bullet Storm where invisible walls protect you from falling. What I mean is that this game has no "teaching without tutorials and teaching the player how to play with the game world". It just lacks the early 2000s suspention of disbeleave where everything is plasible. Newer games like Stoneshard, Metro and Read Dead Redemption do it well without bein in your Face!

Blade Runner

Best non TaleTale Game Ever.

I played it when I was like 6. Never finished it and mainly watched my father play it. Nowadays I can not play it with my 4k LG monitor and 1080p BenQ secondary monitor without crashing. NOW GOG has this game for sale and runs on the Scummvm Emulator (is this an emulator, I guess.). It runs at the right speed to not mess up CPU clock cycles for every time depending gameplay like running after suspects and similar. It scales perfectly to 4k on my 27" screen and does not even need changing the resolution in Scummvm itself. In other words; the game runs in borderless-window. Great music, Great feeling, Great mouse translation! If you have not played it - you missed out !!!

Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice

Walking Film Simulator

I prefer most PS1 and PS2 and early 2000s PC games. I prefer having no invisible walls and falling off bridges / other high grounds. I prefer moving foreword and pressing the action button to open the doors and not just watch a film (overdramatically) - watching an animation. Combat is basic but ok 7/10 Graphics are 8.5/10 Repeatition is high like going through hundrets of mirrors (3-5 per area? ) Audio is high quality but normalized to 1 volume level. If someone wispers it should be quiet. If someone speaks it should be around 50db and when some screams it should be loud! 7.8/10 I do not want to play a film but a game with a story. Last of Us, Deus Ex, Resident Evil Zero to 4 and my favourite story telling game Silent Hill 2 and 3 with even more focus on narrative. It is a good game but I prefer the Ok Boomer times (sarcasm). Don't take the players controls away but let them do simple moves to open doors or do interactions than just hiding the UI completly. Dying to often will deleate your progression but WHY in this game. It is no survival horror game and no Dark Souls type of game. It delivers only the basic gameplay imo. I did not bother to play more than 2h at max. I already forgot the story. How should I remember foreign story bits without contect. Buy it if you can play it with someone you can quietly experience the game.. like a GF or someone new to gaming maybe. The game is empty for my taste. It is on the same level as The Forest to me. 7/10

BATTLETECH

Bad Controls and Waiting Simulator

I give this game a C Grade. The controls are bad compared to Company of Heroes, Men of War and Templer Battleforce. You automaticly get your next mech unit selected so that depending on what you want to do you miss-order the unit to run. Shooting is often not selected so that you auto-run to the enemy and punch it. It also has NO auto-save. I dislike the game. MechWarrior 5 seems to be a better game UI wise. I do not even get the Armor system and I played MechWarrior Online and have seen Mech livestreams and videos over the years. TL:DR Stuttering game (when having Fallout 3 attack cameras), BAD UI and NO QUICK SAVES C Grade for modern games but I'd rather give this a D because PS1 and PS2 had more and better B-Developer and C games!

Sniper Ghost Warrior 3

Worst Game to me Predefined Saves

This may be a good game but when a game doesnt implement a real time saving system that keeps track of every killed enemy but uses a developer preset save that even resets enemies that already got killed before I got there and spawns be in a completly different position like Doom4 (which is also awful) then I wont play it. I hate games that cant do things that even were possible on ps2 and xbox. Bring back the great press F5 quick save functions but in auto saves and not place me 300 meters away from my actual location when it quick saved. An other problem for is that this game may be scripted. I know that the tutorial is the worst but I hate not having old school freedom, when you F up then deal with it. To many games got aborted nowadays because so many devs do not care and just program for the mass market....

Between the Stars

FTL but real time

You are one of the best (female) captains of the combat fleet of the Federation (can confuse names). You are on the good side and the game starts with beeing attacked after a Search & Secure mission. Your ship is nearly destroyed and you need to stop in the nearest sector to fight of the following ships and get to the next allied station / free station to repair where you find out that the upcoming Meeting of the Leaders in the Federation is already pulling back a lot of Federation Police ships to the capital and pirates start trying to take control of every lucrative source.... After you finish the first part of the story / tutorial you are free to roam around the sector to help out or leave the sector to get to the capital of the federation. This game is no "hardcore simulation". The controls are good and you can upgrade and swap out modules of you ship and get new crew / give them day off. Sadly there is no FPS part but a more DND read story and decide what to do on you missions when on foreign / other ships where you often need to think whats best for your crew and what dice roll e.g. repair yourself or repair with parts by using your engineers. TL;DR chill game with real time fights and DND story decisions when bording ships. No real synchronisation except when flying you ship. Outside your ship it is a mix of reading and listening (70:30 %)

SUPERHOT

Most boring game I ve played.

No gun feel. FOV feels like 60. Do not hear footsteps. Barebones game even for 12€ game. Rather buy Darkwood for more value. AND it is of course a Unity game. I hate Unity. Always looks cheap to me.
