I remember hearing great things about the game and it's top notch story and atmosphere. What they didn't mention was that the game suffers from some absolutely horrendous framerate issues regardless of your settings or specs. The game was made to take advantage of DirectX10 and PhysX and it shows, ice melts in real time, the environment looks completely frozen (It looks better than the snow levels on Lost Planet and Crysis, it's that good), instead of showing blood when enemies get hit the game uses shards of ice that fly all over the place and the water uses fluid simulation and moves in a fairly realistic way. However, it wasn't well optimized at all (It only uses 1 core of the CPU) and the framerate dipped constantly in the teens even when nothing was happening. So, make you sure you have a beefy rig with a CPU @3-4GHZ and if you can... a dedicated PhysX card. As for the good stuff, the game's combat is really good and challenging, you'll have to dodge, parry, pull off combos and also take care of your temperature gauge and health bar. It also haves some really cool shooting sequences thanks to the great firearm design (Each weapon feels different, even the weight is different!). The story is phenomenal as well, giving very little information to maintain suspense and terror. It also haves an ending that makes many high budget games look bland. Overall, give it a shot but prepare to fight not only monsters but your framerates.
This could be one of the best point and click games ever made, but sadly critics panned it due to it's "poor" acting and horrible "script", but that's not true, the acting is very decent, the script is good and the game itself is great. It's similar to The Shining but it's more supernatural and more gruesome, the puzzles are pretty fun and challenging and the epilogue made my heart beat 100 times faster than normal so, if you are looking for a great horror point and click game then you should get this ASAP!
Well, have you ever wanted to play "Scream" or "I know what you did last summer"? If so then this is the perfect game for you, as this is a huge tribute to teen horror films complete with great graphics, a fantastic soundtrack and 2 player co-op (No online mode though). The controls are kind of wonky but after a while it becomes easy to play the game, and even though the music is great, the voice acting is... bad, but it's quite common in teen horror flicks that the acting is bad or cheesy so it's not a big issue, and other than those 2 things... it's a pretty good game and I recommend it a lot for horror game fans.
