I have been quite pleased with Baldur's Gate 3 as a Veteran of the Original BIOWARE Titles that came before... this has been an awesome and engaging treat! The added gifts of some Characters making an appearance and being recruitable, that fought Bhaal and Sarevok in the original games is a devotion to the Lore and details both surprising and beyond COOL! KUDOS to the LARIAN Team for not only doing their homework, but also matching the appearances of these Legacy Characters to their original BIOWARE Portraits!
It has been some years since I enjoyed story telling and gameplay reminiscent of the Orginal BIOWARE D&D Games like BLADUR'S GATE, NEVERWINTER NIGHTS, or ICEWIND DALE! I had enjoyed the PILLARS OF ETERNITY Series... but DIVINITY truly captures the freedom of choice and actions of the older BIOWARE series. I'm looking forward to wrapping up this tale of the Godwoken (in their due time)!
I had such high hopes for Pathfinder: Kingmaker as a big RPG fan! The game play and graphics are all that I was expecting... Sadly... less than 7 hours into the game I ran into the fatal flaw in the game that I just learned has been a longstanding and unsolved problem for years with the title! There is a terrible loading lag that has proven insurmountable thus far, after being first reported as far back as 2018! My computer is a modern self built/scratch built, high-end i9 Core 3.6ghz w.32gb onboard Ram, and GeForce Lightning Graphics Card... so I am way overpowered for running this simple game, yet it has become totally unplayable with a startup/boot time of over 6 minutes when it first started in 25 seconds, and in-game load times for play & combat areas is anywhere from 5-10 minutes to transition when they were mere seconds in the early few hours of my playthrough! And there is accompanied sound jags & stuttering... In 5 years they haven't solved this issue according to all the forums I've visited! 5 YEARS! Do not waste your funds on this game... such high hopes to meet with such crushing disappointment when actually played...
I love the Graphics, Gameplay, Stealth and Combat options of this game... and after over 83hrs of game play, I'm utterly peeved that on the final segment of the final mission which I spent several hours taking out Guards, subverting or destroying Defenses, overriding Mechs, setting up all the required relays, and killing 2 of the 3 Dengler Clones, and saving my progress via Auto-Saves and Manual Saves as I placed each of the Relays... I boot the game to continue, and all my saved progress is GONE! I was to hunt down the LAST Dengler Clone, but now have to begin the entire hours long mission over from the START! NOT HAPPY AT ALL!!! This game was worthy of 4/5 Stars prior to this fiasco. I used multiple save points including the Auto Save... all of them have me back at the very start of the second half of this mission! Not doing it again!
