I love Quake 1 and played it competitively. The game itself deserves 5 stars. However, the GOG download is single Windows .EXE installer file which cannot be run on Ubuntu/Linux. This means that I cannot access the folder structure within the archive encapsulated within the EXE file and run the game using a Linux client. GOG should offer this game for downloading using any of the numerous multi-platform archive formats (e.g. ZIP) or the raw CD (BIN/CUE) files which can be mounted on any OS.
