Cyberpunk 2077

A personal perfection.

This is a subjective, highly personal review that ignores almost every technical aspect of the game and just focuses on the story, characters and the world. These are crafted to perfection and make the faults the game may have irellevant (again - for me, personally). With every work of fiction a story works within a certain set of limits. The most limited, set in reality either now or in the past can be incredible works of art. But whenever the writer/s decide to expand those limits, like with magic in the Withcher, they have to make damn sure to really use everything that expansion offers them - otherwise the story feels unsatisfying, short of what you expect when you start it. In Cyberpunk that is expanded to incredible limits and used to it's full potential. Many tried exploring dual personalities but none reach the way it's done with V and Johnny, their relationship affecting their character and the world around them. The world, set in an already established lore feels incredibly authentic, extremely rare are ocassions where something that happens does not fit in it or is not explained fully. Do not skip the side missions. The main story and the side storylines integrate so well that you would rob yourself of an incredible experience. The game demands from you an investment of time, yes. And if you rush it I belive you will still get a great tale, but one that absolutely pales in comparison to the one you get when you put time in both. The main and side content put together are greater than the sum of their value. My writing skills don't allow me to say what I really want here in 2000 characters. I am deeply thankfull to the people who made it as I have never enjoyed any peice of art more than this before. An emotional connection I made to it and the characters almost feels wrong, like I'm not supposed to connect that much with something thats not "real". Nevertheless, I have. To me, the the game is a thing of beauty that will never fade away.
