In a genre sorely lacking in good indie games, this one succeeds in almost every possible way. Fun secret routes, surprising new tools/weapons/spells, and a magnificent setting. It's like if you took all the gritty realism and dark atmosphere of a hardcore game and made it fun and not tedious. The crafting system best illistrates this: where and when you can craft things is limited making preperation key, but the actual crafting portion is easy and it's not so limited that you'll ever feel stressed for supplies. The only critism I have is on the writing, it can feel stilted at times, but the visuals and setting more than make up for it.
