Keeping iot brief - this is a cute game, looks beautiful, controls are good, and the mechanics are quick to learn. A quest log helps keep track of your to-dos, and the sandbox you play in is a tight maze of corridors, lisfts and secret passages that allow you to move between areas seemlessly witrhout any loading. I was not expecting the beautiful day-night cycles, different "armor" sets, and skills to be learned. The only downside, really, is the map; I find that I get turned around quite a bit, and there is a lot of back tracking to be done. Thankfully you unlock shortcuts to ease lengthy traversals from place to place as you get further in.
I've just started playing, and so far so good. I knew the game was different from the original Everspace - and I must say, its not a bad thing! Good fun is being had exploring, shootong up the Outlaws, and figuring out the game mechanics and systems. I'll update my review once I've played more.
