Slender Threads is a real gem for fans of the genre. It blends humor and mystery beautifully, with a vibe that reminded me of both Thimbleweed Park and Guybrush Threepwood’s adventures. This isn’t a jump scare horror game — it’s all about atmosphere and storytelling. The plot is engaging and well-crafted, with good characters and great voice acting. The art style is lovely, and the parallax effect on the environments and characters is very well done. The soundtrack sets the mood perfectly, enhancing the overall experience. Puzzles are fairly simple, but they make sense and feel satisfying to solve. My only complaint? I wish it had been longer! I genuinely wanted to keep playing and exploring this world.
I vividly remember discovering Maniac Mansion at the age of 11 on my Commodore 64. It was a revelation that left a lasting mark on my adolescence. Despite all the other incredible titles from LucasArts, this one will always hold the top spot in my heart. For years, I’ve dreamed of a sequel in the same style, with a manor, secret passages, humor, and horror. While browsing GOG for a good point-and-click adventure, I stumbled upon «The Castle» by chance. This game is a masterpiece! I can’t find the words to express how much I enjoyed this game. It’s everything I love about an adventure game all wrapped into one. The Castle is both incredible and superb. The puzzles are brilliant, the retro art is sublime, and the writing is extraordinary. The alternate endings are fantastic. I can’t believe just one person created this game. I haven’t felt this happy playing a game in years. From the bottom of my heart, I thank you immensely.
This seems like a really great game! I played for an hour or two and had to quit. When I returned to continue, the saved game had disappeared and I had to start from the beginning. I thought I left the game wrong. I started again, played, clicked save and quit. When I returned, the same thing: everything starts from the beginning. I tried several times, same problem. Too bad, the game seemed excellent!!! I tried the game on my mac and windows (with Parallel) same problem on both platforms.
