I just finished playing 9YoS and I'm a bit "disappointed": everything is done in a very proficient way, and I love how the game references Saint Seiya A LOT, but the linear path and progression make it feel a bit less poignant and enticing when compared to cult classics like Hollow Knight and the 2 Ori games. It's a very good game (and i love its short duration) but more freedom in exploration and character customization could have make it perfect!
I bet I'm not the only one mentioning this, but I was so looking into a legit (and actually working) way to play my original copy of the game on a modern PC... You guys are the best, this was a gem saved from the technological advancement oblivion. And for any fan of the movie out there, rest assured this is a GREAT game and a GREAT homage to Ridley Scott's masterpiece. Love sci-fi? Love point&click adventures? This is a must.
I really loved this game back then (I played it on my Dreamcast), but I must confess it was a bit too pretentious. I mean, TODAY they could have a concept as this one sorted out properly, and they could re-create the whole setting while polishing the game mechanics that had (MANY) flaws. It was daring, and it was ahead of its time: due to the technical limitations of late 1999 Quantic Dreams had to come down to terms with their ambitins, with identical and almost empty buildings, similar looking characters and an environment which was way too big to feel alive. They should re-create this game now, and they could really nail it down. As it is, the game was a great experiment, and is much more free than its successors (Fahrenheit and Heavy Rain), but couldn't focus on any particular aspect.
