It's a cute looking game, the visuals and atmosphere was a major seeling point to me. And actually I like the classic Jump&Run and Action Adventure genre. However this game seems to focus more on player torture than a motivating balance as game design. I found myself way to often stuck in unforgiving situations that forces you to redo the last part you already beat. Just as in the the Souls genre I guess. Also, sometimes it feels as if the character-control is taken away from you, maybe because of difficulty reasons or something. For example, instead of being able to "stutter-jump" up a cliff as you are used to, you are forced to slip down this cliff into death, because the game just won't respond as expected. So effing frustrating! Regulary I feel disabled while playing. Meaning, I would probably be able to do a difficult part by my reaction and skill, but the game just isn't allowing it to happen for various reasons. And I get stuck in level design. I just could finally advance by rejumping across all level parts that still have open ends (sometimes you need a new ability to get across a huge gap for example, thats why there are many inaccessible parts of the levels at the beginning) - well, I have no idea why I didn't find the right way in the first place, but whatever, it happens I guess. - But now, again! I have no idea where to go, every path is blocked again. Bruuuuuh. This is the opposite of a motivating game to me, I just had to stop playing because of the blood pressure my annoyance is causing. Thus only 3 stars so far (even thinking about only 2). Not sure if I can complete this game. I guess I am going to try a couple of times and if the game isn't catching my interest anymore (or if it keep on trying to kill my love for life), then I am just gonna deinstall it, whatever. Sadface. Dear devs, torture isn't a good thing. I would never buy the sequel after this experience, just saying. Best regards anyway, it's a very cute loooking game.

Yeas, I am loving it. The characters, the secrets, the monster design, the magic, the battles, the mystery, the humor, the depth of atmosphere and overwhelmingly rich story ... Seriously, I can't get enough if this game. And there is sooo much content around every corner. This game is eating my time as I am eating hamburgers on my way home! Impressive work on so many layers. Pros: too many! Cons: - Camera feels clunky, it's really hard to turn the camera to the angle I would want it to be. - I am missing a real Pause key. There is turnbased mode, but thats not the same as in the old games - Sometimes, but rarely, a wrong language translation confused me. - (Btw, unfortunately only English voice acting - but: kind of every character is voiced!) - The performance is not very good on aged computers. However the devs are going to improve it with Patch 2, though. Long story short: This game is awesome. Worth every penny.

Pretty hard at the start. Wasn't expecting that from a King's Bounty game. Still addicting as usual. I love the dark side. Gonna keep on playing and grinding through. I am becoming better and more powerful every turn. :-) For everybody wondering about a wrong display resolution when starting up the game. Search for the file 'game.ini' in your user folder 'your name\Documents\My Games\Kings Bounty The Dark Side' and change these lines to your desired values: setf ~screenresoultionx .... setf ~screenresoultiony .... and setf ~aspectratiox ... setf ~aspectratioy ... For example, if you want Full HD like me, change it to: setf ~screenresoultionx 1920 setf ~screenresoultiony 1080 setf ~aspectratiox 16 setf ~aspectratioy 9 And you are set. Have fun, gamer!

Probably one of the best RPG experiences at the moment. It's very real in a classic, Pen&Paper kind of sense: deep conversations, your decisions matter and change the game, it's got no battle system. All that matters is the roleplay, the conversations, the acting. The artstyle is nice, the world and characters well developed. Really impressive as a starting title for this fairly new developer. (Aren't they new?) Cons: - got me confused many times, you are literally talking to your senses a lot and they are all basically different people seeking your attention, but they use the same voice actor. Its not easy to follow all the time. - the game feels so deep that it can be overwhelming and exhausting. You need the right moment to slip into this world. - you need to read a lot. Yes, I am talking about Planescape Torment level kind of reading. It requires your attention. Anyway, I would support the developers for any new project. I love this game!

The game's start is great, I love the original one and similiar games as Limbo, Inside or Deadlight. But damn, after some levels the game turned itself into "Little Dark Souls" or something all of a sudden. These highly frustrating deathcount and weird controls spoil all the fun and atmosphere to me. Little Nightmares 1 wasn't as this, but I think the DLC also got some similiar frustrating part. Seriously, did this level slip through QA as this? Or what am I doing wrong? I also switched from keyboard and mouse to controller to see if that would make it easier, but no. Gosh .... :-(
