Mars Horizon

Shallow strategy, minimum freedom

From the screenshots, it looked like a deep strategy. Rocket construction and research are too simplified, the research tree offers minimum freedom. Real space flying problems were reduced to the mission puzzle-minigame. Everyone will have all technologies in the tree researched. The game is extremely repetitive, only the puzzle minigame becomes harder in late missions adding more randomness and unreliability to your modern ships than first rockets. No crew training, no personal management, no real science actions, just grinding missions to get "science XP" and "gold" to buy the progress in the tree. Everyone shall follow the single defined path to Mars. After finishing the crewed moon landing mission (cca 30% of the game i was keep playing just to finish the game). Animations and poor. Original art also poor.

Shallow, repetitive and simple

I bought the game just to enjoy the castle building, but the game provides me with limited freedom of what can be done, the buildings are just "tokens", there is no deeper fortification logic behind the game. And the plot about good sun folks fighting evil night folks is the dumbest one I've seen for years.

Might and Magic® 8: Day of the Destroyer™

Almost as good as best one

My top favorite RPG was MM7, at first MM8 was so experimental (dragons, trolls, minotaurs, vampires, etc.) but i tried to play it with human only group (cleric, necromancer and knight), and it was almost good as its predecessor.
