At last! I've waited Ages (get it?) to get this. Age of Pirates was a blast for me at the past. Pros - It's an open world pirate game! Just set sails and go crazy! GREAT sea battles, where you actually have to steer a SAILING ship, not a friggin motor-jet-brig. Thus, you need to employ some tactics, especially when fighting overwhelming rival. You get to take over bigger and bigger ships, recruit officers to add to your character skills. Aaaand that's pretty much it. Side quests are delivery/escort/transport missions, main quest is rather short and dull. Never finished it - at its last phase the game becomes more tycoon than action/adventure. For the record - land combat/movement is rather dull too. So, if you want to go nuts about sea battles and pillaging - it's a great game (4 stars solid!)! Just, don't expect anything else, really (in that case - hardly 1 star)! The music score is ENORMOUS!
If you like: - Open world games - RPG elements in action game - Zombie grinder / OR survival depending on the difficulty - You get the full package here - plus the expansions! Minus one star for actually recycling a lot of Zombie Island (and Riptide) elements in this game - but it's OK, I loved them both. What ruined my day is the fact that we have it on GOG today. TODAY. If I knew, I would have waited!
