I have played Dishonored 1 a couple of times and I really like it, however it has taken me a while to get into this second installment. I don't come from a nostalgia background since I played D1 the first time only a few years ago. The good part is, it plays pretty much the same as the first one. It switches rat for flying insect infestation (and adds a couple of zombies) but generally it's the same. The issue I have with it is that the story is not as engaging as the first one, and the fact that the art direction was steered a bit towards more realistic graphics and that makes it a bit harder to play and see stuff in general. I find myself using the void eye constantly, struggling to see items and mostly enemies in darker environments. Might just be the new graphics engine with the shadows and everything, I think the cartoonish look of Dishonored 1 helped greatly to identify enemies by color, where in this one they are less saturated. I think I will be replaying Dishonored 1 more often, but this was a good game and I had to keep playing to finish it.
I love this game. I have no nostalgia for it, I played it the first time only a few years ago, I think when you are an adult there's few games that make a great impression on you anymore. I have already played it two or three times, and it's just fun, satisfying and enjoyable story-wise at all times. You can play it casually, which is a must for me, and do it differently on every playthrough. The art style is consistent and aids the gameplay, music and sounds are on point. Just a great self contained piece of playable art in my opinion.
I'm not a fan of horror games, I usually can't bring me to play any. But I got this recommended by a friend for its story and I have to say it's totally worth it. Even if you play it on easy mode where you can't get killed by monsters, it doesn't get boring. You always keep going forward just to see how the story continues, what happens next.
I loved it. I am having less and less time (and patience) to play long game sessions and I'm pivoting towards shorter games, or games that I can pick up for 20 or 30 min each day only. Also, I have never been really a fan of platform, sidescroller action games but after playing Hollow Knight and getting the itch, I am loving them more and more. This one is a great game. It's based on short sections that you will repeat a few times, and the variety of characters make it interesting and evolving, too. I consider it a good mix of repeating the level and discovering how to beat it with different strategies, and it makes for a nice game to play in 20 or 30 min sessions. Also, it ends before it gets boring, and has a nice progression where you unlock more and more characters which behave in different and interesting ways, but also harder enemies which require more planning beforehand. The multiplayer part, which the game seems to focus a bit on (local or online), I did not try it. I beat it on single player, so no problems on that part. 10/10 for me.
