I'm not going to delve too deeply into the history of this game. CP2077 automatically receives a 2 for that shameful display. However, CDPR earned 2 more stars by not breaking their promises, but simply delaying them.I think it has excellent audio: sound effects, voiceovers, score, and even more important, a killer soundtrack with too many genres to list. I listen to the radio tracks all the time on YouTube. I mean...you have A$AP Rocky in the hizouse! En la calle ando! Mucho Mucho Mucho Mucho Dinero! ;-) Yeah, they're bad sometimes....in the good way! Graphically, its quite realistic in a futuristic cityscape post-apocalypse kinda way. If you use RT, it totally changes the atmosphere of the game, giving it more depth of immersion. I sometimes just boot the game and drive or walk around for hours just sightseeing and taking in the view Sometimes the character animations are clunky though. Gameplay is actually what I'd call middle ground. It's nothing new or innovative, nor is it bad in any way. It's a very capable FPS, an ok stealth game, a decent hacking game, a now thanks to transmog an even better RPG than it had been previously. There is a plethora of weapons, cyberware, gear, play styles and builds to further tailor to your RPG needs. I know, I know....people say that dialog choices make no difference, and that's true for the most part. However, the game really shines when you are simply just playing to play without trying to advance the story. The main game is rather short, but the side missions will keep you busy for quite a while. Bugs....well, there are some, but not as many remain as folks want to claim. They have been actively working on it since release, Performance is rather good to great...not flawless...but getting better each and every patch mostly. Frame stability little iffy, but I'm able to maintain smoothness 95% of the time by simply using the in-game fps limiter and Psycho settings on an RTX 3080 @1440p Balanced DLSS.
So, I have not actually played GoG's version, but some have complained about the black screen at the beginning and being locked at 42 fps. Well, that's because it's a slightly patched PAL version made to run on Windows 10. This game still requires Verok's GL Wrapper patch to play as it should....at 60fps with much better options. I don't know why Gog didn't go that extra mile, but the fans surely did. Yeah....this game is easy to find anywhere, but you might as well buy it to say you own it legally.
