I enjoyed it until my party got guns, then I noticed that the monsters would just sit there and let you shoot them without moving. So, about 1/4 of the way in I switched to the original and enjoyed it to the end. I liked the new voices and graphics, but the lack of challenge from the creatures ruined it for me.
No crashes (windows 7), but this version is missing about half the secrets (breakable wall with items needed to complete the mission) are not there. After days of trying to complete mission 5 on "Experiment", I check youtube to see how anyone could do it. Well, it's not impossible if you can collect the items you need (invulnerability, megaheath, and armour. It's a good game, get it on steam.
I was thinking about quitting this game (felt tedious) when I found the All-Seeing Eye (ASE) automap addon. Most players are just to jaded to map out dungeons and the extras maps are not good for playing along. The ASE lets you concentrate on killing monsters and solving puzzles. ASE is easy to use and has GOG specific buttons. The game will ask you for codes from the manual; just type in anything, hit return, and play on. Great bit of video game history, but stands alone as a fun game to play.
Armored Princess was a HUGE let down. Everything centers around your Rage if you want to win any battles, so you spend all your time setting how you're going to attack what in what order just to survive. Extremely unbalanced. I tried Paladin... bad! Warrior... bad! Time to uninstall and think about the 2 weeks I wasted feeling nothing but frustration, then uninstalling it. Any game you have to continually save after every battle, change of army, etc. was poorly designed. My suggestion is to buy only The Legend and play that twice instead of buying this. On the plus side, the graphics are as good as the first game, so it gets a star.
Worse tutorial ever. I tried it twice, and died twice. Uninstalled and would have gotten my money back but I waited too long to try it out. It looked like it would be fun from the advertisement. Luckily, it didn't cost much so not too much money wasted.
