Horizon Zero Dawn™ Complete Edition

So nice I bought it twice

I already own this game on steam, but I bought it again because I really value GOG's DRM-free games. The game is a ton of fun. It achieves some of the most incredible cinematic moments without ever breaking gameplay. Running for your life away from several giant robot dinosaurs up a cliff, only to jump to a long neck at the very last second with multiple sawtooths clawing at your heels as you make the jump is an experience unlike any other. Waiting in the grass, methodically setting up a multitude of traps, then successfully springing your traps exactly as planned is always incredibly satisfying. And all those precision shots to a robot's weak points are made all the more easier with mouse aiming. As far as performance issues go, they're there, but since the initial steam launch they've made a number of improvements. I'm still rocking a 970 at time of writing and I'm still able to have a ton of fun with the game, it hasn't ever been enough to impede on my fun (then again, I enjoyed Arkham Knight at launch, so take that with a grain of salt) Also, this game is releasing on GOG on my birthday, so I'm choosing to believe that Guerilla, Playstation, and GOG are doing this specifically for me, so thanks y'all! /s Seriously though, can we get Bloodborne and God of War next? Please? Spiderman would also be nice

I've had some fun, but it has problems

Some constructive feedback for the devs: allow for rebindable keys, that's just basic functionality. Food rots way too fast (frankly, I don't find the rotting mechanic fun and think the game would be better if it was just removed entirely). Inventory space is too small. Let me swap an item from my inventory for an item in a basket, don't make me drop an item just to switch it out. Make items float on the water (or just make sure if you drop an item on the boat, it stays on the boat). Dropping an item and watching it sink is never fun. Inventory space is too small. Yes, I know I mentioned that one twice. It's probably the biggest problem in this game. Inventory space is too small. Let me replace a part of my boat instead of having to deconstruct it and assemble a new part, this becomes especially annoying with attachments. The balance seems off. I don't know if I'm supposed to be using the same weapons I built in chapter 1 in chapter 3, but that's the boat I'm in (no pun intended). I've been collecting every resource the limited inventory has allowed for, but I still can't craft anything more than a spear and a sling. I can't say if this is intentional or not, but it doesn't feel like it. I've picked up numerous items that seemingly have no use, as nothing in the crafting menu uses them. I'd also suggest you do some good old fashioned bug hunting. I haven't encountered many, but I have encountered an infinite loading screen The game is fun. I am enjoying my time with it. But it's far from perfect, and it's not for everyone. I really hope this game gets some good updates, because I do like it. Sailing is fun. Building and upgrading your boat is fun. I genuinely want this game to be the best it can be, but at time of writing, I don't think it is. My recommendation at the moment is completely neutral. If you're interested in this game and want to get it, I won't try to talk you out of it. If you aren't interested in this game, I won't try to talk you into it.

I love this game. And it pisses me off.

I love this game. It's my favorite of the series and I desperately want to give it 5 stars. I really, really wish I could give this game 5 stars. But I can't. This game pisses me the fuck off more than any other game. Because it doesn't let you save your own game. You must rely on the game's autosave. Quick save does nothing. And this is done on purpose on the game's Ranger Hardcore setting. If I wanted to rely on the autosaves, I just wouldn't save my game. However, when I die time and time again during a certain combat encounter, I want to be able to save my game when I finish the encounter. I do not want to finish it, finish the entire side quest, leave, and then die because my van went over a hill that was slightly too big for it, only to have to start the entire side quest over from the top because the game refused to save itself. If the game weren't good, I'd just uninstall it and be done with it. But because the game is so good, when I lose nearly an hour's worth of progress because the game won't let me save my game, I'm not just disappointed, I'm livid. And I can't recommend a game that makes me that mad.
