If you've played the previous game you know what to expect. It is a time management game. You use time to either work to gain money or train to build up stats (Strength, Agility, or Stamina). You also need to use money to buy food, or pay for training equipment to increase effectiveness. This ultimately results in fights, which are an auto-battler. This is where people have some trouble. Compared to last game, the fighting skills you choose matter much more than your stats. Even if you have 25% or more stats than your opponent, you have to carefully choose which skills to use to counter what your opponent is doing. Each opponent is like a puzzle to solve. This has been frustrating for some users and reviewers who think the game is too hard, or is cheating, because they don't want to engage with the games mechanics. If you enjoy management games combined with the puzzle/strategy element of developing a well-rounded set of skills for specific opponents, you will enjoy this. The pixel graphics are great, the music is good, the style and humor are Ok, the story gets somewhat interesting toward the end. My only complaints are the initial requirements for completing jobs in chapter 2 are very tight, so be prepared for that. Also, final chapter is rushed. There's basically a bunch of "missions" that are just expedition dumps leading up to the final boss and it ends with plenty of room for a part 3. If you liked the first game, or like management/strategy games plenty of humor and pop-culture references get the game. I'd personally wait for a discount, but I had fun.
