I have played this game for only 1 hour yet, so I can't give a full opinion but I can already say this is very very good work. I was not sure I would be able to play it with keyboard and mouse but, as I already said, it is very very good work, it is very playable with keyboard+mouse, it is obviously more comfortable to play with a controller, I tested both and both are very good to play with. If you like Batman, Comics, and Video Games, I bet you'll like this game. Most (all?) people who worked to make this game were true professionals working together, I can feel it when playing. You can't be wrong choosing this one even if it is a bit old now.
I did not finish the game so far but I can already say this is a good game. Halfway between Metal Gear Solid and a sci-fi film, this is the first Deus Ex game I'm playing and I'm not disappointed. The "Director's cut" says it all : I feel like playing in a movie. Some of the people who made this game love movies and video games and love video game players, I can feel it while playing. The tutorial is immersive, it could be more, but it is already enough for me. It is not perfect : Jensen can't jump higher than a couple of inches and can't fall from 3 meters high without dying, at least before being "augmented" for these actions, but except some few flaws and some nonsense when sneaking (the air conduct is your best friend), I can't say this game is bad. If you like FPS games with a story and do not dislike old graphics, I recommend playing Deus Ex : Human Revolution - Director's Cut.
It lasted 4 hours on my computer. It looked really promising at the beginning, a bit complex and some choices to make, but after 4 games I just don't want to start a new one, it's ALWAYS the same game starting again and again and again... It's not a bad game but it clearly is not a good one. You start ALWAYS with the same ship until you unlock another one when you finally manage to get the permission to unlock it after countless trials and the game is always the same : you go from one point to another, an event occurs, you manage your crew, gain or lose something, upgrade your ship or not, you go from one point to another, an event occurs, you manage your crew, gain or lose... And when the ship is eventually destroyed, you start exactly the same game with the same ship and the same crew... Where is the fun in that ?! 3 stars rated because it could be much better with its good ideas, it has potential, it is not bugged... but clearly I can't rate it more than 3 stars. Lame.
I was literally put in a game that explains pretty much nothing and I had to explore and understand everything on my own, it lasted 4 hours in game until I uninstalled it. I don't understand why this game is so high rated. There are a lot of things to do, it seems, but pretty much nothing is explained and I was tired doing things I don't understand with no ending and no reason. It is not a bad game but it clearly is not a good game. I didn't understand this game, it seems a lot of people did, so I'm not lucky or maybe I'm not patient or curious enough to play endlessly to understand anything about this game... I don't plan on playing it again. I rate it 3 stars because it seems I'm not the kind of person to appreciate it correctly, my own experience isn't similar to the experiences of a lot of people, but if it was a game ready to be appreciated I would have appreciated it, so... 3 stars. Based on my own experience and the fact so many people rated it 5 stars... which I consider highly overrated, based on my own experience.
This game is made with love and dedication. Very few bugs, some controls not working perfectly, and the monster hunt is very basic but except those little problems the game is working fine. To know it is almost all created by only one person is stunning. If you want to try a game with love and dedication and if you don't dislike pixel art, go to Stardew Valley like many people did already.
This is surely the most disturbing gaming experience I've had in a decade. The game is not bugged, the game is not bad, the game is just too old ! At the beginning I was excited playing an old style game recently developed, but wow... this is boring, frustrating and not fun ! And the most disturbing is that... it is exactly what these kind of games were decades ago, so I can't complain about the game itself. The only thing I can complain is that it is not the kind of fun I find in recent games and clearly... this game style is not fun anymore to me. It is linear as it was decades ago, I can stay during several days on the same problem to solve if I'm not using the phone to get hints (thanks for this option, I used it more than I can count) and while back in the days we had much less games to play to and it was much more difficult to get one, why would anyone play this kind of games today while you can instantly have much more fun playing to a free-to-play game ? This is old, too old. But the game is not bad, not bugged, and it is clearly the kind of games we had during the early 90's. So I can't put less than 3 stars but neither can I put more.
