Heroes of Might and Magic® 3: Complete

25 years young game

I remember eagerly awaiting the release of Heroes 3 back in 1999. The base game was nothing special and would probably not have stood the test of time, but with the 2 official expansions (included in GoG) and the 2 unofficial ones (available for free download) this game easily outshines anything else released in the last 25 years. It is timeless, fun and has more replayability than anything else in the history of computer games. From PacMan to Skyrim, Monkey Island to Call of Duty, this easily ranks in the top 10 and probably on spot #1 of best game ever if you take into account the timelessness of it. There are always new things to do, more to learn, different strategies to try. And of course you can make your own maps and campaigns, which is the part I personally enjoy most. The series sadly went downhill after that and NWC eventually closed down, but Heroes 3 (with the expansions) was the peak.
