Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War - Definitive Edition

No LAN, no party ... again. What a waste!

for the players, the marketing-syndicate's no-LAN-coercion-doctrine is leading to a massive devaluation of great games like this. When will this change? Why does GOG not frankly differentiate between "multiplayer" and "LAN" so ppl know what exactly they are buying? Formerly, "multiplayer" of course meant "LAN" simultaneousely, till those distribution-cartels even started to spent money for the deletion of the LAN-functionalities out of good old games...how absurd and pervertive. Do ppl care about that? I hope for Relic's success with this Edition and a decision to reintegrate the games' LAN-functionalities at least within a few months or sth. With LAN included, 5 star's would not be enough for this, also with regard to numerous mods. Cheerz!

Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War - Anniversary Edition

LAN disabled - disappointing

No LAN - No party ... they put extra effort in deactivating the LAN function just to compel users to their dirty online-servers/surveillance i.e. online-survers. So ridiculous, such a shame for this great game, mb the best RTS ever. So better get one of the old DVDs, use the numerous (buggy but nice) MODs and have pure fun with ur LAN-community. Also runs reliably on Linux/WINE, sadly didn't made some MODs run on Linux. It took me too much time to resolve all the dependencies for unification mod, e.g. -> 2 of 10 mod-matches run w/o crashes. Top-skirmish, especially with Mods.

Knights of Honor II: Sovereign

NO LAN, no party!

No free multiplayer, obviously under compulsion of being online/logged in. Why would they always control us users? How should we play on holidays with friends/family having (spare)time but no conenction and login data with us? Sick of that! Won't pay 40+ bucks for that, sorry.

Ancestors Legacy

Biggest disappointment for a long time

Don't want to spend much time into a detailed recension. It's really not worth it. Forced online multiplayer. Great engine, great coders, technically really good. BUT conceptually totally flawed, supersimple, nobrainer, no strategy, it's supersuperficial. Relatively easy to play and win, repetirepetirepetitive. I should have listened to Sagottarian's advise and I am really peeved about myself spending those bucks. I wouldn't even have it as a gift because it's really waste of time. Sorry for that harsh critics, but I'm sorry for these great coders having to fulfill such a *+/)8- task. Better go and play ninepenny for a strategy kick better than that. Glad to have so many other great games here on gog. Btw, when will gog finally distinguish between forced online multiplayer on one side and free classic LAN multi/coop on the other? This would really be an improvement for GOG and transparency in particular.
