The reviews of this game encouraged me to purchase it. After playing through the first few chapters, I deleted the game from my hard drive. Linear to a ridiculous degree, while this didn't really bother me, it added to the disconnect with the game. I enjoy being immersed in a storyline and identifying with the characters. This has no storyline. Reviewers mentioned the boy is looking for his sister. I guess you must discover that in the end because the little boy just stands up in the middle of a gray and foggy wood and starts moving forward, avoiding obstacles, traps and dangers along the way. Many times he has to puzzle out how to continue in that same direction. I'm glad others have found pleasure and something to recommend about this game, but I did not and cannot.

I had to right this review after reading the line "this is not a tear jerker" in another review. I guess it depends on the kind of person you are. If you have compassion for all living things, not just humans, this is indeed a tear jerker. I out and out cried at the end. Partly because it was over perhaps! Truly an engaging and beautiful game. My husband gave it to me as a gift and I have just purchased To the Moon to continue my journey. I like gentle, emotionally reflective games and I am sure this was fulfill my need to continue the boy with bird adventure. And for those who worry about price, there can be no complaints there. Thanks GOG!
