I understand the hardcore reviews from Doom fans when this came out that still remain to this day... But it's still a great game on it's own. The iDTech4 engine was a marvel of it's time and the atmosphere of this is amazing, and the lighting is brilliant long before any talk about RTX or SSR reflections. There's an argument to be made that the original D3 is better than the BFG Edition but.. i kind of prefer this one. Flashlight included. Get this along with the RBDOOM mod and you won't regret it, it's a... Hell of a good time.

From the worst start that the gaming world has ever witnessed, to one of the greatest masterpieces of the genre. If you're still stuck on launch day, wake up and give it a try.

Took me a while to boot up this one but it was worth it. We've come a long way in the field of "open world" and by comparison, this Detroit feels a whole lot cramped and somewhat small, but the story and side-quests keep you engaged well enough. This version includes those sought-after AUD's so you can insta-hack some of the harder terminals. On the bad side, this would greatly benefit from some sort of "HD mod" on the textures and i had to use Reshade to get rid of the famous "urine filter look" of the PS3 era. That look just really didn't age well...

First of all, a word to my fellow gamers: Do you even know what DRM means? A launcher, as annoying as it is, is not DRM. DRM is stuff like "EasyAntiCheat", or the dreaded Denuvo crap many games bring on as well. And the game, with Phantom Liberty, launched perfectly fine with no Internet connection, no CTDs or issues of any kind, i just tried it before risking myself to write this here. Please, check your mods, eliminate them for the time being and do a Verify/Repair on the game files. And some of you... be honest. We all know why many of you chose GOG in the first place a few years back... it has nothing to do with launchers. It has to do with the possibility to "Buy once, give to 20 friends for free". I know, it was just too tempting... Patch 2.0 and this DLC definitely made the game what everyone was dreaming about when it launched and i'm happy CDPR never gave up on it despite that historically botched launch. Just be careful next time because the community is getting fed up with "launch now, fix later". The way the DLC story is implemented is smart and with all the changes going on, it's more than a good excuse to start all over from scratch.
