The game got lots of hate when it came out. Some of it was deserved, however the devs have fixed tons of bugs as well as added a lot of good stuff into the game. I just finished it for the first time after letting it sit so they could fix it up in 2020. This game is amazing. The story is very interesting, the art is great, the game runs smoothly now, and it has good sound design.
