I grew up playing all the Resident Evil games but for some reason I never got around to playing Dino Crisis back in the day....until now! I was completely taken aback at how challenging in comparison this game is to the classic RE triology with tougher and more daunting enemies plus some remarkably difficult puzzles. I even had to pull out a pad and pen for codes and how to complete certain ones. It took me about 10 hours to finish and I enjoyed every minute. Cannot wait to move onto the sequel next!

A criminally underrated entry in the iconic series that has aged incredibly well. This was definitely a slight change of pace compared to Resident Evil 2 so I can understand some not viewing it as favourably back in the day. However the increased pace and focus on combat away from the eerie survival horror element makes for a welcome alternative with some pulsating gameplay and superb choice-based mission design. Although there are no A and B runs or different characters, there are plenty of different outcomes based on your actions that you can play the game through a few times and experience different scenes, areas and interactions. A really under-appreciated aspect that they even failed to recreate in the remaster. Absolute steal of a purchase and much appreciated being able to experience this game again.

I originally played this on the PS1 back in 1999 and have always regarded it as a masterpiece. Revisiting it again 25 years later this time on PC, it is as good now as it was back then. Although this could be considered a barebones port, it offers a good representation of what it was like all those years ago and retains everything that made it truly iconic. It also runs perfect with no issues and is ideal with an analogue stick as opposed to the original Playstation d-pad. Absolutely bargain and I highly recommend the entire bundle.

It's been 20 years since Medal of Honor: Allied Assault was originally released so I thought I'd revisit it once more for a bit of nostalgia and to see if it's stood the test of time. There is still a good variety of missions here and despite it being a fairly linear experience, it doesn't feel on-rails or hamstrung by scripting like some modern FPS games have. Combat feels impactful and getting hit can also be punishing. It's also pretty immersive thanks to a brilliant soundtrack. Sadly it has not aged well in places - character models look very dated as do the environments. The game also declines into some horrible trial and error missions in the latter stages which feel incredibly rushed and are frustrating to play. It's a shame because the rest of the experience is way better. Overall, MOH:AA will always go down as a classic of its era and was an incredibly influential game. Warchest is a great pack but parts of the package have aged worse than others.
The original Project IGI was a pretty remarkable game that saw you infiltrate an array of enemy compounds set on varied expansive backdrops. The music was amazing, the guns felt punchy and there was an overall incredible atmosphere. The tension was immense as there was no saving and there were several ways to get to your objective. It had some design and technical flaws but it was a title way ahead of its time and a huge surprise in the FPS genre. I.G.I 2 feels so lackluster and a big departure from the first game. Missions feel more linear, enemies are plastered all over the place and the sounds are nowhere near as good. The gameplay just feels off in so many respects and it really diminishes everything about the game. There is still a considerable challenge here despite design frustrations and limitations but fans of the original will mostly be disappointed that the sequel didn't expand or improve and in most cases, go backwards. Worth checking out in a deep sale I guess but it's nothing compared to the iconic original and that is the game I would most love to see on GOG.

Metal Gear Solid was a truly iconic game back on the original Playstation and it's great to be able to revisit it once again through this GOG release. This was a very poor port back in the day and not much work has been accomplished in this version which is essentially the same. Thankfully there is a great workaround found here https://www.gog.com/forum/metal_gear_series/mgs_widescreen_solution/post8 thanks to this user - it's a bit more work than the remarkable V's fix from MGS2 and requires a couple of downloads plus architecture changes but if you follow the steps carefully, the game will work even at 21:9 which is just insane! The game itself is still fantastic and was way ahead of its time with a superb world and intriguing narrative. It does feel a bit dated in places but it's still fantastic to experience once again especially at such an attractive price.

This game needs no introduction so I'll go straight to the point; this is ultimately the original version of the PC port going back to 2002. It has several issues across the board making it rather unplayable and beyond frustrating. However, there is a miraculous patch that can be found here https://github.com/VFansss/mgs2-v-s-fix/wiki (thanks largely to the pinned review) which brings the game up to modern standards in a remarkable way. The installation is literally a WinRAR extraction into the game directory which auto-patches instantly and then you can set the game up with a variety of options. The interface is intuitive and the patch itself is incredibly well-produced. The control options along with resolution support brings this game up to date and I am even able to get native 21:9 support which is astonishing. This game will always go down as a classic but I fully understand people if people are hesitant about the state of the port but rest assured, the patch is one of the best you will ever see for a classic game and the work that's gone into it is highly appreciated!
